Both Blackbeard’s locations bring the beats! At Blackbeard’s on the Beach, enjoy live music every night during spring and summer, and Wednesday through Saturday the rest of the year. Blackbeard’s Too keeps the tunes flowing every Saturday and Sunday year-round, with extra performances on select holidays and special events.

Ruben Limas: A Coastal Bend Favorite

Ruben Limas has been performing in the Coastal Bend area since 1997, and has been playing at Blackbeard’s on Beach for over 25 years, entertaining both locals and tourists alike.

During baseball season, Ruben is often invited to sing our National Anthem to kick off the game to kick off the Corpus Christi Hooks games

With a variety of musical stylings and a repertoire consisting of over 500 songs, (including: Country, Blues, Folk, Rock-n-Roll, and Reggae), he often challenges the audience to “stump” him. … Come try your hand at it sometime.

You can catch Ruben most Wednesdays and Fridays, and on an occasional Saturday. Shows are from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 on weekends and 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. on weekdays.

Brad Brown

Brad Brown, a native of Houston, brings a smooth, easygoing style to the Texas country scene. Inspired by icons like Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Don Williams, his music weaves heartfelt storytelling with mellow acoustic rhythms—creating a sound that invites listeners to relax, reminisce, and stay a while.

From breezy solo sets to lively waterfront nights, Brad Brown brings a soulful, laid-back energy to coastal restaurants and bars across Texas. His warm vocals and easygoing style deliver a sense of comfort and authenticity that resonates with every crowd. Echoing the spirit of classic troubadours while staying fresh and familiar, Brad’s music is a nod to tradition with a modern touch.

From the Gulf Coast to the Hill Country, he’s keeping real Texas music alive—one honest song at a time.

Brian Winfrey

Brian has been playing and producing music for over 60 years. He has toured with the USO for U.S. Military bases and played with other regional acclaimed bands through out his performing career.

His style of entertainment is performing Oldies, Classic Rock, New Country, Classic Country, Motown, and family favorites. Anywhere from Jimmy Buffet to Brooks and Dunn to Eric Clayton and Creedence Clearwater Revival are all on the set list. On occasion even Big Band or Swing find there way into the show if someone request it. Either as a one man performer or up to a full band he has a great show and professional sound.

Chuck Almarez

A lifelong educator and musician, Chuck brings a blend of heart, harmony, and history to every performance at Blackbeard's. When he's not in his corner playing classics from the '50s through the '90s, he's inspiring students in the same community as a dedicated Reading Specialist.

Currently pursuing his doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction, he balances his passion for learning with his love of the ocean, often catching waves between lessons, songs, and time spent with his grandson.

Whether performing golden oldies or helping young readers discover their voice, Chuck believes that music is a universal language that connects us all!

Lisa Sullivan

Music Stylings

Lisa is a versatile artist, covering songs from various genres, including classic rock, pop, country, blues, and even some Spanish ballads, Her favorites, such as Janis Joplin, Alanis Morissette, Lainey Wilson, and Fleetwood Mac, showcase her appreciation for powerful voices and soulful performances.

The Music Journey

In 2000 Lisa began playing with local musicians and various bands. She enjoys collaborating with musicians and solo performances alike. Currently you can catch her expressing her passion for music in her solo act as well as playing with the local band Love Street around the Coastal Bend.
